4. Browser Extension

The WoT browser extension provides Web of Trust functionality for Nostr applications. By installing and using the extension, you agree to the following terms:

Functionality

The extension calculates trust scores based on your social graph and the Nostr protocol. Trust scores are subjective measures based on social connections and should not be considered absolute indicators of trustworthiness.

Updates

The extension may receive automatic updates through your browser's extension store. These updates may include bug fixes, security patches, and new features.

Third-Party Sites

The extension interacts with Nostr client websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or functionality of third-party Nostr clients.

5. Oracle API

The WoT Oracle is an optional backend service that provides trust calculations. Use of the Oracle API is subject to the following terms:

Service Availability

The Oracle API is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uptime or availability. You may self-host your own Oracle instance using our open-source code.

Rate Limiting

API requests may be subject to rate limiting to ensure fair usage and protect service stability. Excessive usage may result in temporary or permanent access restrictions.

Data Accuracy

Trust calculations are based on publicly available Nostr data. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data or calculations.

6. Disclaimer

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We expressly disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement of third-party rights
  • Accuracy or reliability of trust scores

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Nostr Web of Trust, its developers, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use or inability to use the services.
